Intricacies

My work interprets the premise that the painting surface is beautiful because it is a two-dimensional surface, not three dimensional. I prefer to create the illusion of depth by using individual planes of color and line. My expression is based on my desire to probe uninvented space. Many of my paintings are abstract landscapes. They are also interiors for things that have no exterior. Whatever the case, it is the interaction between the artist, his intuition and the viewer that makes a painting what it is. It is often the viewer who can complete a work by giving it an identity through it's invocations from the painting to the viewer.
